Friends of Mothers Initiative is a women-led specialty coffee producer, honey supplier, and exporter based in eastern Uganda.
Founded in 2015, we work with women farmers on the slopes of Mount Elgon to produce exceptional Arabica coffee and organic wildflower honey while creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and community development.
Our work connects the care of women farmers, the richness of Uganda’s land, and the demand for responsibly produced products around the world.

All our farmers are women, with women holding 90% of leadership roles across the organization.
Our specialty coffee consistently achieves cupping scores of 84+, while our wild honey reflects the rich biodiversity of Mount Elgon.
Our certified products are produced through responsible farming and sustainable practices that protect both people and the environment.
We build direct relationships with buyers and partners, promoting ethical sourcing and fair value for farmers.

THE ORIGIN OF EXCEPTIONAL FLAVOUR
At elevations between 1,400 and 2,500 metres above sea level, our coffee grows in the rich volcanic soils of Mount Elgon.
The high altitude, fertile land, and unique climate create ideal conditions for producing specialty Arabica coffee with vibrant acidity, a creamy body, fruity fragrance, and a long, sweet finish.
Every bean and every hive represents an opportunity to empower women, protect the environment, and build thriving communities.
